The Mentor will work directly with families and individuals in homes, community centres, and neutral venues to assess needs, set achievable short-term goals, and support personal development. Using Bryson Pathways resources, the Mentor will provide tailored interventions to promote positive change. They will have access to a wide range of Bryson Pathways resources to support their work
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to individuals experiencing financial difficulties, including help with budgeting, debt management, and accessing benefits, grants, or other financial assistance.
* Offer advice and encouragement to improve physical and mental wellbeing, connecting individuals with appropriate healthcare services, counselling, or community wellbeing programmes.
* Assist individuals in addressing housing-related challenges, including understanding housing rights, navigating tenancy issues, and accessing housing advice or advocacy services.
* Provide one-to-one mentoring to build self-esteem, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
* Degree level qualification in Social Studies, Community Development, Social Work or related field with a minimum of one year’s experience in a social care environment or 3 years’ experience in a related field in an Advice/Social care environment.
* Knowledge and/or experience of Community Development Work.
* Ability/commitment to work flexible hours as required (including evenings and weekends)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Package
* Hold a full and current driving licence valid in the UK with access to a car and business insurance on appointment
