We're looking for a motivated Health Care Assistant to join our nursing team. Duties include home visits, stock management, and routine patient care.
Main duties
* Conduct home visits for patients unable to attend the surgery for their annual review – maximum 3 patients weekly.
* Manage and maintain clinical stock and equipment.
* Take patient observations: blood pressure, pulse & pulse oximetry, temperature & weight.
* Record ECGs.
* Administer vaccinations & injections under a PSD.
* Conduct diabetic foot checks.
* Wound care.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and admin staff.
* Follow infection control and confidentiality procedures.

For this advert, the Nursing team work under the South Milford umbrella and work across all our sites which include our branches in Micklefield and Thorpe Willoughby.

Skills & Qualifications, desirable but not essential:
* Experience as a Health Care Assistant or Nursing Associate in primary care/community settings and familiar with using SystemOne.
* Competent in phlebotomy, ECG recording, vaccine administration, wound care and diabetic foot checks.
* Ability to carry out home visits.
Essential Qualifications:
* Training certificates.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

* Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level.
* Previous completion of the HCA Care Certificate (as per GP Mythbuster No 57 — HCAs in General Practice).
Experience
* Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
* ECGs.
* Venepuncture.
* New patient medicals, including height, weight, BP, pulse.
* Chaperone procedure.
* Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
* Clear, polite telephone manner.
* Effective time management (planning and organising).
