About you:
Exeter City Council's Public and Green Space department is seeking applicants who can lead, guide, support, and motivate our grounds maintenance teams. As a Team Leader in this department, you will supervise the daily operations of grounds maintenance and street cleansing teams to ensure Exeter remains safe and attractive.
Essential experience includes grounds maintenance or street cleansing, along with knowledge of implementing and maintaining safe systems of work. A full valid UK driver's license is also required.
About the role:
Team Leaders serve as role models by promoting a strong health and safety culture. Your daily responsibilities will include problem-solving in a high-pressure frontline environment and exploring new ways to improve service delivery. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, a solid understanding of health and safety regulations, and experience in street cleansing, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
Applicants should be prepared to work outside normal hours when necessary. Skills required include proficiency with office tools such as Word and Excel, report writing, critical thinking, and the development and implementation of service processes.

The Public and Green Space Team Leader team works together to supervise, support, and develop service delivery across parks and street cleansing teams. They lead maintenance teams to collaborate with communities and councillors, providing a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for residents and visitors.
