Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity on Brackendale Ward, Wirral, for a Clinical Ward Manager who will provide management and clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team. Brackendale Ward is an adult acute ward based in Springview.
The ideal candidate will support the team to deliver person‑centred care in partnership with service users, carers, families, external partners and agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide line management and clinical leadership to nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Ensure person‑centred care is delivered while meeting standards for quality and safety in partnership with service users and carers.
* Take overall operational management and clinical responsibility for the delivery of safe, compassionate care within the ward, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Lead a team of staff in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisal takes place.
* Ensure systems are in place to manage administrative and operational resources cost‑effectively, evaluating the standard of service delivered.
* Co‑ordinate multidisciplinary working, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members and the wider unit to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services.
* Carry out nursing procedures to a standard that ensures safe and effective care and complies with the NMC Code of Conduct.
* Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for the management of clinical care on the ward, supporting the implementation of the 6C’s to underpin practice and delivery of care.

Working Conditions
All new starters will commence on a fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks of training to support you in meeting the induction and initial training requirements of the role.
