Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic dynamic individual to assist the multidisciplinary team in providing high quality care to patients within the critical care unit. The critical care unit is a very busy workplace. Our service provides enhanced levels of care to critically ill patients. The department works closely with a multidisciplinary team including doctors, research nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, the dietician, speech and language, infection control, and the x-ray department. The department is highly motivated and pro-active in delivering a high standard of care to patients as individuals and strives continually to enhance the patient's experience.

Role
The post holder will work in supporting the nursing team within the department in supporting and caring for patients within the Intensive care setting. The post holder will support the nursing staff working under the supervision of the nurse in charge of the department. The post holder will be aware of the need for privacy and dignity for patients. Setting up and cleaning specialist equipment for patient use. Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment. The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous and reliable post holder, giving quality service to patients, relatives and carers, healthcare professionals, and internal departments. To be aware of the Health and Safety aspects for staff and patients. To contribute towards maintaining specified standards of cleanliness and hygiene. To maintain adequate levels of stores throughout the whole department. To commit to personal development.
