The Role
The school is seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Officer to work closely with students requiring additional behavioural or emotional support.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the school’s pastoral systems and ensuring students receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed.
Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small-group pastoral support for students
• Support behaviour management systems across the school
• Monitor student attendance and engagement with learning
• Work closely with safeguarding leads and pastoral leaders
• Liaise with parents and carers regarding student wellbeing
• Maintain accurate pastoral records and documentation
• Support restorative conversations and behaviour interventions
• Assist students in developing positive attitudes to learning
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Promote student wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school
Requirements
• Experience working with young people in a school or youth setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
