The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join Boux Avenue. This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be a key member of the Finance Team. The main purpose of the role is to assist with the production of monthly management accounts that deliver a set of robust and timely financial results each month. It will also focus on successful completion of the annual audit and proactive budgeting process. The role will have one Management Accountant Assistant as a direct report.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts in a timely manner, including posting of a range of journal entries.
2. Review of the monthly results and variance analysis vs KPIs and budget.
3. Assist with preparation of internal reports and finance analysis collaborating with colleagues in a cross-functional environment.
4. Manage reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis ensuring high quality supporting evidence.
5. Assist in preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
6. Play an active role in preparation of information for the annual audit and Statutory Financial Statements.
7. Assist with projects to support the development of the business such as operational improvements and system changes.
8. Being involved in a collaborative and supportive team environment, ensuring good internal communication.
9. Executing additional tasks to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives.
What would we like to see in you?
10. 3-4 years experience in a month-end focused position.
11. Multi-site experience, particularly in the retail sector is an advantage.
12. Newly or Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA).
13. Desire to grow and learn new skills taking ownership of their area of responsibility.
14. High level of spreadsheet ability essential for data manipulation (e.g. sumifs, lookups, pivot tables).
15. Ability to work to tight timescales whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
16. A team player, with good communication skills and the confidence & credibility to interact with colleagues at all levels.
