Overview
We have two exciting opportunities for post Foundation Year 2 graduates to gain a working knowledge and experience within the fields of Clinical Radiology and Clinical Education. Candidates will be engaged on a 70/30 split within Radiology and Clinical Education. There will be intensive training regarding the referral procedures for radiology scanning. With direction and support of Residents and Consultants, Fellows will assist in the efficient use of resources to support patient flow within the hospital. There will also be the opportunity to support the Interventional Radiology Service with Ward Rounds, Theatre work and pre‑assessment.
Main duties
Following appropriate training and direction, Fellows will assist with:
* General Radiology
* MDT organisation with defined Radiologists
* Injection cover
* Liaison between ward and Radiology
* Clinical liaison for urgent CT and MRI reporting
* Duty reporting
* Interventional Radiology: Board rounds with IR of the day
* Organise and pre‑assess patients 24 hours pre intervention to reduce wasted slot allocations
* Discharge letters for patients
* Ward follow up for IR patients post procedure
* Outreach drains for pleural or ascites following formal in-house training
