In addition to strong interests in medical education and service improvement, including enhanced recovery and pain management, our Consultants enhance the profile of the department through their engagement in a variety of wider Trust activities and transformation work.
Sub‑specialty interests could be accommodated across the range of specialties at our hospital including paediatric anaesthesia, pain medicine, obstetric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedic anaesthesia and preoperative assessment.
Interview date will be Wednesday 6th May 2026.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the provision of anaesthetic services across the Trust as part of a team of 33 Consultants, 3 Specialists, 10 SAS doctors and 24 trainees.
* Provide anaesthetic support for the usual range of district hospital surgical specialities, including a regional Plastic Surgery and Burns service and a supra-regional Spinal Injuries service.
* Work in a 10 PA post (8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA), with potential for additional programmed activity and an increase in the SPA proportion in line with increasing responsibilities.
* Take part in the general on‑call rota with a frequency of 1:16.
