About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled
Project Director
/
Senior Project Manager
to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a programme of Stability Island projects. The individual will report into the Programme Manager and be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, in compliance with safety and quality standards, and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical grounding in engineering, with experience of contracting, construction and commissioning phases of projects. The candidate will be a logical thinker with the capability to quickly analyse a problem and deliver a practical solution. The candidate will have the ability to pick up new concepts rapidly and work both independently and collaboratively with the project team and Senior Management.

Preferred location is Central/West Scotland but can be flexible dependant on candidate.

Requirements
Responsibilities

* Actively promote a culture of health, safety and environmental awareness and seek out improvements in safety performance at Carrington site
* Function as a Safety Leader and champion participation in all Highview Power and Contractor Safety Programmes
* Lead end-to-end project management for the programme of stability Island projects
* Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments
* Manage engineering, procurement, construction, operations and functional support teams to deliver projects efficiently
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements
* Manage contracts, vendors, and subcontractors, including negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
* Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders, external partners, regulators, and clients
* Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
* Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned for future projects

Benefits
The ideal candidate will have

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
* 10+ years of project management experience in the power, utilities, or energy sector
* Have a strong safety awareness and the ability to drive the correct safety culture in others
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements, CDM and permitting processes
* Strong understanding of power generation and distribution systems(conventional and/or renewable), transmission, or distribution systems
* Strong understanding of industry codes and standards related to power generation and distribution systems
* Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar capital projects
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external contractors
* Confidence to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative solutions to problems
* Excellent people skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
* Ability to deliver the role whilst demonstrating flexibility, initiative and prominent levels of self-motivation and enthusiasm
* Ability to build rapport quickly and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Able to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data, and drawing appropriate conclusions
* A willingness to travel to project sites, other Highview offices and vendor works
