1. To work alongside the inpatient physical therapy team to maintain an efficient day-to-day service, contributing towards the general running of the physical therapy department.
2. Assess pre and post-surgical inpatients and working alongside the inpatient team clinically reason appropriate treatment plans.
3. Assist clients with mobility and exercise programmes, under the guidance of a qualified physical therapist.
4. Encourage patients and their family/carer's in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
5. Be responsible for ensuring all aspects of clinical governance are maintained specifically taking an active role in clinical audit.
Person Specification:
6. Be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or a minimum of 1-year relevant hospital experience
7. Have relevant therapy experience at either an assistant or a Technical Instructor level
8. Be absolutely patient focused with a desire to facilitate a collaborative culture within the department
9. Be energetic and achievement focused with a passion for therapy and the desire to develop
10. Be willing to continually develop and work within professional competencies.
