About the Company
Lateral Naval Architects provides complete engineering expertise to the superyacht industry, from project conception to delivery, operation, and refit. Our core competency is engineering, but our unique focus is on meaningful innovation to enable superyachts that meet the demands of today's owners and those of the future. We believe that meaningful innovation starts with asking new questions.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Naval Architect to join the team at Lateral and play a key technical role in the engineering and delivery of innovative marine projects. You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle, contributing to hull design, weight, stability and performance analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you’ll apply analytical and numerical tools, including CFD and model testing, to develop, refine and validate designs, and support projects through to sea trials as concepts become operational reality. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing and clear communication sit at the heart of how we work, and you’ll engage closely with colleagues and clients to solve complex technical challenges.
You’ll take ownership of the quality and delivery of your work, managing tasks transparently and to a high technical standard. Alongside project delivery, you’ll be encouraged to explore new ideas, develop innovative solutions and contribute to Lateral’s ongoing investment in R&D, continuous improvement and better ways of working.
This is an entry-level opportunity ideally suited to candidates with 0-5 years' experience. If you feel you're the right fit, we'd love to hear from you.
The role is based in our Southampton office, and we offer flexible work time and hybrid working arrangements around the core hours and in office days required for our team.
