Lumacron Technology, an ARKA Group L.P. Company, delivers world‑class solutions to the optical communications marketplace. We’ve just moved into a new office in Edinburgh Park as we expand our European Headquarters, so we’re seeking a talented Graduate Firmware Engineer to help support the expansion of our product portfolio.
Position Overview
Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, candidates will be given the opportunity to contribute to the architecture and design of FPGA sub‑systems within Lumacron’s flagship network monitoring products and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of parts of the design. The role is multi‑disciplinary and includes the development of FPGA IP cores, full FPGA System‑on‑Chip RTL designs, and verification test benches. Support and mentoring will be given to integrate the candidate into the team and provide ongoing career development.
Responsibilities
* Knowledge of designing FPGA IP cores or sub‑systems
* Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog HDL languages for FPGA design
* Ability to work to tight timescales, individually and collaboratively
* Ability to comply with UK GOV National Security Vetting Procedures
Basic Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level in electronic engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience of the following:
o Design with AMD/Intel FPGA and CPLD devices
o Designing (code entry to timing analysis) using Intel and/or Xilinx FPGA tool sets
o Designing for high‑speed optical interfaces
* Experience developing software / embedded software
* Knowledge of Packet Networking/Telecommunications/Data Communication
