The Microsoft Offensive Research & Security Engineering (MORSE) team is looking for a learn-it-all engineer to help secure Microsoft products and devices.
The MORSE team is responsible for securing the Windows client and server operating systems, used by billions of customers daily in businesses and across Azure. The team performs security design reviews, code reviews, and penetration testing on key features of Windows and Azure to ensure they meet the highest security standards.
Responsibilities
* Participate in security reviews to identify and mitigate risks in Microsoft products, including design reviews, code reviews, and fuzzing.
* Serve as the security contact for teams developing new products and technologies in Windows, Azure, and devices.
* Identify security vulnerabilities in key OS features such as network protocols, security features, and Microsoft devices.
* Leverage current security knowledge to develop new protections.
* Engage with the external security community and researchers.
* Collaborate with product teams to enhance security and communicate the value of security investments.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in a senior role within software engineering or security.
* Expertise in discovering vulnerabilities in operating systems and native (C/C++) applications.
The following are desirable but not mandatory:
* A public record of security research, particularly in vulnerability discovery.
* Experience exploiting bugs and bypassing security measures in operating systems.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Windows architecture.
