Overview
Purpose of the role: As a technician within production, specifically the paint shop, reporting to the Team Leader/Group Leader at McLaren Automotive, you will take on a role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation within one of our paint Process areas, ensuring your paint process is delivered to a high standard. This may involve Load, unload, inspection of the panels or paint application.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to, the paint process (PES) is followed to ensure a smooth finish to our supercars and the desired standard is achieved. Any concerns to the finish of the panels are quickly escalated to your line manager. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious goals as a company.
Principal accountabilities
* Understand and follow detailed process documents relating to the painting of vehicles.
* Ensure that your station operations on each vehicle are completed within takt and to a high standard.
* Ability to escalate to your leader any concerns that may be affecting the quality, cost or productivity of the panels being painted.
* Ensure 5s within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
* Maintain standards set such as, using the uniform/ clothing provided.
* Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards is essential. The technician must always adhere to safety protocols.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
* Experience within paint application is essential.
