About the Facility
HMP Parc is a Category B men’s prison holding both sentenced and remanded prisoners. With an operational capacity of around 2,000 and a dedicated wing for older and disabled prisoners, HMP Parc is one of the largest and most modern prisons in the UK, located 5 minutes from the centre of Bridgend and 20 minutes from both Cardiff and Swansea.
Role Responsibilities
You will be a key member of a Social Care team that includes Social Workers and care staff. As the Occupational Therapist you will assess, plan and deliver care for complex patients with a wide range of physical and mental health needs. You will be involved in all aspects of the care planning approach for your caseload, working closely with a multi‑professional team, communicating effectively and maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification and experience.
* Enhanced adults barred list DBS check and a South Wales Police vetting check.
* Commitment to the council’s equality duty, Welsh language standards and the active ‘offer’ programme.
* Ability to greet customers in Welsh.
* Experience working with adults at risk and protecting children, young people or adults.
Working Conditions
The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post, providing a framework for working between home and office. Supportive environment, regular supervision, appraisals, training and development opportunities will be provided.
