An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist team based at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will work within the Head and Neck CNS team supporting patients and their relatives, significant others with a diagnosis of Head and Neck cancer, or during treatment and post-treatment and beyond.
The post also requires the post holder to provide specialist tracheostomy and laryngectomy care for inpatients, outpatients, and community settings.
Main duties of the job
* Assist in providing professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of patients with Head and Neck Cancers, acting as a resource and consultant to provide information and support to patients, carers, and staff.
* Lead and contribute to the formulation of policies.
* Lead and contribute to the development of patient information materials.
* Liaise effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure a coordinated specialist service across the CDG.
* Provide informal and formal teaching on Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy care.
