Sub-contractor Manager at Equans
Equans is seeking a Sub-contractor Manager to join our team in Hartlepool on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours/week). We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role involves coordinating subcontractor activities on site and maintaining high standards of SHEQ compliance among subcontractors operating at Hartlepool Power Station.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the SMOC process and ensure subcontractors are fully approved with all relevant documentation.
2. Conduct inaugural meetings with subcontractors before work begins, annually.
3. Oversee subcontractor supervisors and field supervisors, ensuring expectations are met through pre-job briefs and spot checks.
4. Meet and greet subcontractors on the day of work.
5. Conduct pre-job briefings and review RAMS with subcontractors, ensuring understanding and sign-off.
6. Ensure high-risk work subcontractors are approved by the local ISM and that RAMS are reviewed and approved prior to work.
7. Supervise and perform regular spot checks on subcontractor activities.
8. Coordinate with operations managers and foster strong relationships to support subcontractor work.
9. Review subcontractor performance regularly and communicate concerns to management and ISM.
10. Oversee contractor management on a day-to-day basis as the core site focal point.

Candidate Requirements
* NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards it within 6 months.
* At least 2 years in compliance, health and safety, or subcontractor management roles.
* Experience managing subcontractors and driving safety performance.
* Knowledge of health & safety systems and technical disciplines.
* CITB SMSTS/IOSH Managing Safely certification.
