Main Role
The Senior Domiciliary Care Assistant is responsible for undertaking the initial client assessments through to setting up the care delivery for each client and ensuring the service delivered is consistently strong. The role involves visiting clients to create a tailored care and support plan, unique to them.
Job Role Requirements
· You will be responsible for supervising and supporting your staff and also reviewing our Client service to ensure it is delivered to a consistently high standard.
· You will report directly to the Registered Manager, guide, and support a team of Carers.
· You will be the first point of contact for your staff and undertake team meetings.
· You will ensure continuity of care by stepping in to cover calls (Day or Night) when necessary
· You will also be involved in their development and care practice.
· Your role will also involve carrying out appraisals, regular Spot Checks, staff supervision, inductions, recruitment, investigations, disciplinary and grievances handling
· Regular reviews and risk assessments of service users are also part of this role.
Other duties will include but are not limited to:
· Mentoring and support of new and existing staff
· Offering training opportunities
· Conducting quality audits on customer log books
· Having on-call duties on a rota basis
· To manage and carry out the initial visit process, completing all paperwork as directed by the Company.
· To manage the service user's medication in partnership with care workers in line with the service user's care plan and medication level. Highlighting any inconsistencies or errors, changes to service user's needs or medication errors to the appropriate medical personnel, family members, and social services as required.
· To input all initial visit paperwork onto the Dolphin Healthcare Care system ( Care Planner/Nourish) and use this to inform the Service Users Care Plan, focusing on person-cantered care.
· To organize and carry out Service User's reviews, recording, and reporting any changes to their needs, issues, or concerns.
· To be responsible for giving feedback regarding any issues or changes regarding Service User's care to Social Workers, family members, care staff, and other professionals involved.
· To ensure risk assessments relating to individual Service Users are updated as necessary following any hospital discharges or changes to their care.
· To assist with the reporting and investigation of any safeguarding concerns
· To support in the investigation of any complaints.
· To be responsible for the shadowing of new staff and their ongoing training in partnership
· To carry out regular spot checks and observations on staff and report any concerns
· To provide day to day support for staff and Service Users regarding concerns and complaints ensuring these are recorded and feedback given as required.
The Senior Domiciliary Care Assistant need to be compassionate and self-assured, and have the knowledge and ability to model good practice whilst being prepared to challenge poor performance. You will regularly monitor the quality of service that your team of Carers provide and take action to make improvements if necessary.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, experienced in Health & Social Care, have a clean drivers licence and familiar with Domiciliary Care Management App.

Pay: £23,809.50-£26,325.00 per year
