Care Assistant
Location: Pembroke Dock – Maes Y Coed
Hours: Full time, 45.5 hours per week
Salary: From £12.75 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the day‑to‑day support and care of individuals with autism. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their physical, emotional, and social well‑being.
A typical day at Maes Y Coed
* Provide person‑centred care and support to individuals with autism.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities and pursuing their interests, such as swimming and bowling.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
* Monitor and record the progress of individuals, ensuring all care plans are followed.
* Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and developing new skills.
* Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well‑being of all individuals.
Required qualities and skills
* A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
* Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs.
* A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team.
* Basic IT skills for record‑keeping and communication purposes.
* A full UK driving licence (essential for supporting transport to appointments and activities).
* Right to work in the UK with at least 12 months remaining on your visa (if applicable).
* No experience required – just passion, patience, and commitment.
