Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Congleton, Cheshire
Salary: £21.01 per hour
Job type: Full time, Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, working 4 days out of 5 (Mon‑Fri, either 6am‑4pm or 8am‑6pm)
Fine Decor Wallcoverings Ltd is a leading Wallcoverings and Décor products supplier based in Congleton, Cheshire. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias.
Key Responsibilities
* Reactive and planned maintenance
* Mechanical and electrical fault finding
* Working with newly planned maintenance schedules
* Helping towards increased efficiencies within the plant
* Maintaining records
* Ensuring the business complies with current legislation
* Emergency plant repairs when necessary
About You
* HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering
* Mechanical knowledge including pneumatics, diaphragm pumps, mechanical drives (chains, sprockets, gears, gearboxes, drive belts)
* Production line servicing
* Excellent fault finding skills
* Good understanding of health & safety procedures
* Good communication, organisational & planning skills
* Ability to work on your own and within a team
* Strong team‑work ethic
* Ability to work under your own initiative and under pressure
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Experience within a factory environment
Other Desirable Skills
* PLC knowledge
* Knowledge of printing and printing machinery
