Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (Initially in KS1), Barton-upon-Humber
The Governing Body at Bowmandale Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed teaching assistant to work with children on a 1:1 basis, who have complex Special Educational Needs, including medical and behavioural needs.

It would be preferable if candidates have had some experience working with children with complex behavioural difficulties.
The working pattern will involve supporting during teaching times and recreational times:
1. Monday - Thursday: 8.45am - 12pm & 1.00pm - 2.30pm
2. Friday: 8.45am - 12pm
The successful candidate will have knowledge, understanding, and commitment to working closely with the Class Teachers to provide support for the children to promote independence, encourage inclusion, and access to the curriculum and learning resources.
Communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work on their own initiative are essential.

The post holder will be expected to be an active team player within the school, working effectively as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality teaching and learning. Due to the post's access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
