We are looking for a Technical Operations Supervisor to join our growing Jointing team. This role challenges daily operations in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines to help us build for the future.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the operational management of HV and LV installations.
* Responsible for protection grading reports, technical client reports and detailed analysis.
* Development & updating technical testing/commissioning procedures capturing the knowledge.
* Develop training programmes to ensure all Engineers are trained in Commissioning and Protection and not limited to normal SAP duties.
* Ownership of site protection investigations and technical development projects for clients.
* Co-ordinating DNO Witness commissioning e.g. WPD/UKPN new business.
* Undertaking Site audits and upskilling/training within the business.
* Managing advanced protection engineer duties such as differential, NVD or blocking I/O testing.
* Supporting Head of Department in managing day-to-day technical matters and acting as stand-in when needed.
* Undertake detailed calculations and engineering work to support Design team on substation projects.
* Produce detailed technical reports for work undertaken.
* Maintain, extend and champion CPD and training opportunities within the business.
* Undertake support visits to site in operational capacity to resolve technical issues.
* Assist other SAPs in carrying out network switching operations, as needed.
* Undertake site-specific risk assessments.
* Ensure personnel understand and adhere to their job requirements; manage and supervise all site personnel in a technical capacity as needed.
* Carry out network operations under instruction from the Network Control Engineer.
* Assess potentially hazardous and dangerous situations and take appropriate action to ensure safety of personnel and the public.
* Assist in the training and development of Sinewave Energy Solutions personnel wishing to become an LV AP or HV AP.
* Prepare switching programs for approval by another SAP Engineer for technical investigations.
* Issue and cancel safety documents as required for technical investigations.

Requirements
You'll have a proven track record of:
* Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint across multiple platforms (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use initiative and work collaboratively.
* Excellent listening skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
* Ability to convey knowledge to others, to train and upskill.
* Training delivery experience with confidence to communicate using various tools and methods.
* Detailed understanding of Protection systems, testing and commissioning practice.
* Excellent drawing comprehension.
Youll be a successful Field Supervisor at Sinewave if you’re:
* Bachelors degree or similar in Engineering or related field.
* Emergency First Aid training.
* CSCS (or affiliated).
* Minimum of 2 years experience in Protection systems, testing and commissioning practice.
* Experience in electrical protection scheme designs with knowledge of earthing and cable designs.
* Experience in upskilling and leading a team.
* Experience of SCADA and remote-control systems.
* Minimum 33kV Full SAP experience including SFT essential.
* 132kV experience would be an advantage.
* Minimum 3 years experience in supervising a team of SAPs.
* Commissioning & protection experience.
* Current SSE authorisations would be an advantage.
* 18th Edition.
* C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing.
* Fault finding.
* Comply with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, including the anti-bribery policy, while adhering to the Environmental and Quality Management System in alignment with ISO standards and the requirements of the NERS accreditation.
