We are supporting various customers worldwide in automotive project management. We are recruiting for a Project Engineer for our UK customer. Position Responsibilities The Vehicle Evaluation & Verification team is a key contributing organisation within our customer's business as they transition from their historical product line up of Internal Combustion Engines, to a strong Battery Electric Vehicle powertrain offering. From within the Capital Investment Budget (CIB) Projects Team, you will be supporting the Dunton Campus transformation as they modernise their infrastructure to ‘Bring on Tomorrow’ and develop the new range of electrified vehicles for tomorrow. The role within the team would include providing civil, structural, electrical and mechanical solutions to buildings, facilities and equipment, for both new and upgrade project. Key responsibility include: Supporting the development and strategy of on-going 5-year CIB projects for the Dunton site Support Project Management activities for all Dunton site projects from concept through to delivery and completion, including: Developing detailed specifications, project charters, enquiries and justifications Championing documentation, approvals and invoicing Manage the RFQ process to ensure competent suppliers, contractors & OEM’s are selected Lead Health & Safety activities for each project including Risk Assessments & Method Statements, permits to work, inductions, building regulations, standards, CDM, etc Deliver robust project timing via the MS Project tools and maintain project milestones to achieve completion to Quality, Time and Cost Manage day to day project issues with OEM’s, Contractors, Suppliers and FMC operations; leading recovery actions as required Co-ordinate activities with associated departments involved in the projects, including robust maintenance handover at completion Lead regular reviews with suppliers, contractors and OEM’s, ensuring adequate reporting metrics are in place against quality, cost and timing Develop AutoCAD layouts for concept discussions with suppliers, contractors and OEM’s that evolve into final design drawings through the approval process Lead regular status reports for management reviews, including the regular CIB reviews with the Business Office Support other Facility Management and the site Asbestos Co-ordinator activities as required Support administration tasks associated with the department What you bring along: Skills required: Would have the ability to be flexible in support of an agile and ever changing team Project Management and proficient with MS Office tools such as Excel, Project and Word Possess the relevant technical knowledge that indicates you understand complex systems and equipment Be able to work on multiple priorities, both independently and/or collaboratively Feel competent and comfortable in a product development environment Preferable but not essential is a working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and systems Be respectful, positive and curious, but just as important, you will have a willingness to support broader business needs as required Be openminded and ‘Do the Right Thing’ in an environment where quality and processes need to be created and complied with to deliver quality assured, customer focused products Be an effective communicator with the ability to plan, build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders in a fast and dynamic environment Experience in leading Health & Safety activities including Risk Assessments & Method Statements, permits to work, inductions, building regulations, standards, CDM, etc Skills preferred Contractor safety management, construction/civils knowledge and AutoCAD Experience preferred: Knowledge of electrical, controls and safety Additional Information The role is Dunton (Laindon) 5 days a week on site Position is confirmed inside IR35.
