We are currently seeking to recruit a Multiskilled Engineer to work with the Maintenance Manager in the provision of high quality engineering ensuring the continuous running of plant and equipment. The role is hands on an really makes a difference to the running of the factory - delivering desired results and efficient service for breakdowns, repairs, PPM and project work.

Rapid response to breakdowns
Effective fault diagnosis to ensure first time fixes
Carry out the maintenance of office, control and factory equipment including conveyors, rigid and modified-air packing, metal detectors and high-speed labelling machines.
Drive line performance by focusing on bottleneck reliability & speed
Identifying improvement areas within line engineering processes and recommending/implementing solutions
Installation of plant, equipment and services
Carrying out autonomous and preventative maintenance tasks competently and correctly and recording work competed accurately in the correct documentation
Adhering to laid down systems of work
Working safely within health & safety & food safety standards
Inspections of equipment at predetermined intervals to ensure there is no risk to product from contamination by foreign bodies arising from equipment damage
Ensure effective maintenance service is provided to the factory to minimize delays and downtime of machines.

To prepare any reports needed for SLT

Quality & food safety The job holder has a responsibility to create a culture of awareness of, and commitment to the highest standards of quality & food safety and as such they must lead by example.
The job holder is responsible for actively encouraging all staff to immediately report any quality or food safety issues, assign reward for doing so (using the STAR Award process) and must be seen to take visible action and give feedback to the reporter on actions taken to address the raised issue.
The job holder will have signed the Andover Quality and Food Safety Contract. This will be reviewed and signed annually
Skills & Knowledge: Multi-skilled individual with practical experience in highly time-sensitive environments.
C & G or equivalent in Engineering(Electrical)
17th edition IEE Regs trained - preferred but not essential
Experience of high volume production required (food industry preferred)
PLC knowledge (Siemens, Omron, Telemec) - preferred but not essential
Experience of vacuum packing machines (Cryovac/Mondini) advantageous
Welding experience (TIG) advantageous
Proven ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
Effective communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Self motivated with a proactive approach
Can work unsupervised and make decisions when required
Experience with steam systems and boiler systems would be advantageous
Experience with scales, check weights and labellers would be advantageous
