Role Overview
Addenbrooke’s Hospital is the primary treatment centre for children’s cancer across the East of England. The Paediatric Haematology & Oncology Team seeks an enthusiastic Biosample Assistant to support the Research Team and clinicians by managing research samples according to clinical trial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Request, receive, ship and track research samples for commercial and non-commercial clinical trials.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain samples and ensure timely processing and shipment.
* Complete data entry using a variety of data capture tools and maintain accurate records.
* Use Microsoft Office, including Excel and web-based databases, for effective communication and data management.
* Perform basic sample preparation prior to dispatch with no analysis or interpretation required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Completion of GCP training and ongoing maintenance of skills and knowledge.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and web-based databases.
* Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and initiative.
* Previous experience within the NHS or research settings is desirable.
