Support Worker
Arch West Midlands Ltd - Residential for 16-24 year old's with Mental Health, ASD, Learning Disabilities, Behaviours that Challenge etc.
To provide care in accordance with best practice and CQC / legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and greed standards under the direction of the DM, Clinician/Nurse and or RM.
To be open and honest, reporting to your senior and management at all times
To show empathy, patience and understanding of individuals needs and health diagnosis
Assisting with personal hygiene and care- Where required.
To support and enable service users / young persons to maintain and develop skills and personal interests while delivering person-centred care unique to each individual
To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required, from time-to-time, to maintain and progress knowledge
To contribute to the efficient running of the service
Support service users / young persons to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community
Ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users / young persons are followed
Ensure Risk management is used effectively – H&S, COSHH, Food Hygiene, Infection Control and Individuals Risk Assessments
Be responsible for informing the Senior Support Worker / Management of any changes in the needs of service users / young persons
Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
To demonstrate "good practice" as per training and guidance
To maintain good quality working relationships with those that use our services.
To complete tasks and assignments set out by Clinicians, health professionals, and all members of management, senior management and the Registered Manager.
Complete all necessary documentation, monitoring and auditing records that are assigned to you.
To take initiative and responsibility - working in line processes and structure and guidance provided – inclusive off all training and information provided by Arch West Midlands.

Must Haves / Working Towards
RQF / QCF in Health and Social Care Level 2 (there will be possibilities to gain higher education and training such as RQF / QCF in Health and Social Care Level 3)
Care Certificate – Not Essential, as we can offer this on employment
Minimum 6 months experience
Clear and effective communication – Verbal and Written
Experience of monitoring and maintaining records (both electronic and paper) so that they are accurate and up to date
Experience of managing personal/household finances
Experience of medication management and administration
The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Sensitivity, patience and trustworthiness
Experience of risk management
A knowledge of people with ASD, learning disabilities and/or mental health problems
A strong value base
A commitment to providing outstanding services for people
A desire to support individuals to lead independent lives
Experience of policies & procedures and of CQC legislation
Experience of Health & Safety, COSHH, Food Hygiene, Personal Care / Hygiene and Infection Control
Ability to support someone with varied personal & household tasks

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
