The Role: Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing management within the Utilities department and acting as the key point of contact for all business-critical projects within the department.

Responsibilities
* Ensure full compliance with all mandatory Safety, Quality, Legal, and Company standards.
* Lead and develop the Utilities team, fostering an autonomous, high-performance culture.
* Oversee all Utilities operations, including CO₂/N₂ systems, refrigeration, compressed air, heat, water, and BTS.
* Manage corrective and emergency maintenance activities in SAP, ensuring timely communication and feedback.
* Deliver both major and minor capital projects within the department.
* Drive improvement initiatives in Energy & Fluids (E&F) and collaborate with the Reliability team.
* Ensure accurate energy reporting and invoicing, including submissions to government bodies (e.g. ONS, FIT).
* Maintain compliance with UK regulations and corporate standards, including Pressure Systems.
* Lead problem-solving and performance improvement using VPO methodology.
* Optimise departmental costs and contribute to achieving key KPIs (losses, ZBB, energy, and utilities performance).
* Support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and implementation of critical performance initiatives.
* Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for government grants and taxation matters.
Financial and Performance Management
* Manage budgets and costs for Utilities, ensuring efficiency and optimisation across all areas.
* Own and monitor Energy & Fluids (E&F) KPIs and contribute to achieving performance targets.
* Participate in E&F and Maintenance budgeting, implementing strategies to reduce costs and improve service levels.
* Collaborate with other business functions on contracts and projects.
* Share accountability for overall E&F cost performance.
Quality, Health, Safety, and Compliance
* Ensure all departmental activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and SLA standards.
* Promote and maintain safe working practices across the team.
* Drive continuous improvement in energy and utilities usage.
* Maintain quality standards through effective management of SLAs.
* Oversee maintenance areas and surrounding facilities to ensure operational excellence.
* Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in line with company guidelines.
