Planning Legal Director / Partner

The Opportunity
I am working with a leading national law firm with one of the strongest planning teams in the country. The team currently sits at 42 lawyers across several offices and has grown consistently year on year.
Due to continued growth and an increase in complex instructions, the Leeds office is looking to appoint a Planning Legal Director or Partner.
This is a standout opportunity for a senior planning lawyer who enjoys contentious work and is looking to play a visible role within a high-performing national team.
The Role
Focus on complex planning matters, with approximately 70% of the caseload being contentious
Significant planning enquiry work
Appearances and advocacy before Courts, Local Authorities and other bodies nationwide
Supervision, mentoring and development of junior lawyers
Supporting the continued growth of the Leeds planning offering
This role involves regular national travel given the nature of the work.

Excellent quality work across a broad range of sectors
Clients include national housebuilders, water companies, bespoke developers and other major commercial organisations
Strong reputation for technical excellence and commercial advice
The Ideal Candidate
Senior Planning Solicitor operating at Legal Director or Partner level
Strong experience in contentious planning matters
Advocacy experience highly desirable
Solicitor Advocates of particular interest
Planning Barristers will also be considered
