Commercial Lead The company is seeking a Commercial Lead to strengthen its commercial function and support the growth of its tanker fleet. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑moving markets, understands the dynamics of global shipping, and can translate market intelligence into profitable decisions. You will work closely with chartering, operations, analytics, and senior leadership to maximise voyage returns, develop strategic partnerships, and support long‑term commercial strategy. Key Responsibilities – Commercial Strategy & Market Development Market & Trading Insight Monitor global tanker markets, freight trends, arbitrage flows, and macro drivers affecting supply/demand. Analyse market data to identify short‑ and long‑term commercial opportunities. Provide actionable insights to support chartering decisions and fleet deployment. Commercial Performance Support the optimisation of TCE earnings across the fleet. Evaluate voyage options, cargo opportunities, and routing strategies. Work with chartering teams to assess risk, exposure, and commercial upside. Client & Partner Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with charterers, brokers, traders, and key market stakeholders. Represent the company in commercial discussions, negotiations, and industry events. Ensure consistent, high‑quality communication with partners and counterparties. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with operations, analytics, and risk teams to ensure alignment on commercial priorities. Contribute to the development of commercial tools, reporting dashboards, and performance metrics. Support senior management with commercial reporting, forecasts, and strategic planning. Contracting & Negotiation Assist in negotiating COAs, spot fixtures, and time‑charter agreements. Ensure commercial terms reflect the company’s risk appetite and value‑creation goals. Maintain accurate documentation and CRM records. Requirements – Shipping & Commercial Expertise Proven experience in commercial shipping, ideally in tankers (clean, dirty, CPP, DPP). Strong understanding of freight markets, chartering processes, and voyage economics. Ability to interpret market data, AIS flows, fixtures, and pricing trends. Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills. Analytical, commercially minded, and comfortable working with numbers and market models. Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage. Strong command of MS Office and commercial tools (e.g., Veson IMOS, Signal, Kpler, Vortexa — or willingness to learn).
