We have an exciting opportunity available for 2x motivated and experienced Management Accountants, to join us as key members of the Council’s Finance team on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.
In your role as Management Accountant, you will provide support on all financial matters, including timely and high-quality financial advice to a range of budget managers.
You will report to the Senior Management Accountant, and to be successful in this role you will have proven experience of finance in a complex organisation and share a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
1. Budget setting, budget monitoring, year-end closedown and statutory returns
2. Provide support and advice to a range of stakeholders, promoting strong financial governance
3. Financial support on change projects and grants
4. Preparation and presentation of reports
5. Provide advice and support on legislative and guidance changes
6. Assisting with delivery of training, such as to budget managers / other council colleagues
Skills, Attributes & Experience required:
7. Aptitude for numbers & finance
8. Prior experience of working in a finance role is desirable
9. Excellent verbal and written skills
10. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
11. Ability to operate in large, complex and political organisations
