Teaching Personnel is recruiting a passionate and dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to join a specialist residential education setting in the Barnstaple area from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey. The setting provides a therapeutic and nurturing environment for pupils with a range of complex learning, communication, and social-emotional needs.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within a small class setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a supportive learning environment that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.
About the Setting
The specialist residential provision supports primary-aged pupils with:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Communication and interaction difficulties
* Moderate learning difficulties
The setting combines high-quality education with residential care, ensuring pupils receive consistent support to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to individual learning needs.
* Develop and implement personalised learning plans.
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
* Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience working with SEND pupils in either mainstream or specialist settings.
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
* A patient, resilient, and child-centred approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
