Our client is now seeking to appoint a highly skilled Electrical PLC Maintenance Controls Engineer. This role requires someone who has very strong knowledge and experience of electrical/automation and PLC systems to join the team. Basic salary of £58,000 per annum, plus bonus, OT opportunities taking OTE to over £70K, plus pension matched up to 10%.

Position Overview of Electrical Maintenance PLC Controls Engineer
The role involves working as part of the Maintenance Team providing hands-on electrical and PLC technical support to production and other internal functions across the factory.
PLC fault finding and modifications are vital skills for this role.
You will be working with electrical installations, fault finding, and repair of PLC-controlled machinery within a manufacturing environment.
You need strong skills and experience with breakdowns, fault finding, and changing PLC parameters.
The workload is estimated at 60/40 project work, with project lead responsibilities at 70/30.
Experience with installing servo drives, projects, CapEx improvements, HMI, and Profibus is required.
Siemens S7 training is available.
You will provide plant-wide electrical maintenance, departmental support, and repairs on machinery such as conveyors, hydraulic presses, moulding machines, and packaging equipment, ensuring production targets are met.
This position offers opportunities to be involved in a wide range of electrical maintenance operations and projects, supported by various training programs, including accredited ones.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Recognized electrical engineering apprenticeship and qualification or equivalent UK Level 3 qualification – NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC 3, or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
PLC fault finding experience is essential.
Strong skills in breakdowns, fault finding, and changing PLC parameters.
Experience with installing servo drives, CapEx projects, HMI, and Profibus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment undertaking PPM and TPM activities.
High safety awareness.
Ability to fault find, repair, and solve electrical machinery problems.
