What is the purpose of the role and expectations?
A carpenter multi-trade operative in Lancer Scott FM social housing division, plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of living for tenants. They are responsible for a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks, with a strong emphasis on carpentry skills, and often incorporating other trades like plumbing, plastering, and decorating.
What will be my core responsibilities?
* Performing diverse repairs and maintenance: This includes tasks like lock repairs, replacing doors and windows, repairing and replacing timber flooring, fixing skirting boards, fascia boards, and general snagging work.
* Applying multi-trade skills: Beyond carpentry, the operative will be expected to handle basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, and decorating.
* Working in various settings: Will operate in occupied and empty (void) social housing properties.
* Responding to reactive and planned work: will be expected to address both urgent repair requests and scheduled maintenance tasks.
* Ensuring safety and compliance: Adherence to health and safety regulations is paramount, and operatives are responsible for working safely and professionally in tenants' homes.
* Maintaining accurate records: This includes detailing work completed, materials used, and adhering to deadlines as per our in house Epix CAFM system
* Providing excellent customer service: will be expected to communicate effectively with tenants, keeping them informed about work progress and ensuring their satisfaction.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
