I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. The organization boasts excellent clinical expertise and a collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales role, primarily remote, focused on the UK and Western Europe. You will be responsible for acquiring new clients and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and executing strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and generate RFPs
* Using Salesforce to track client interactions and opportunities
* Managing the sales process from lead generation to closure
* Leading proposal development to meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing marketing input to support business development
* Contributing to sales targets and strategies
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Maximizing opportunities with research staff and attending industry events
