Position Details:
* Location: Sheffield
* Schedule: Monday - Friday
* Contract: Temp to Perm Options Available
About the Role:
As a SEMH Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will support students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for SEMH students.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support, fostering a positive atmosphere.
* Implement and support IEPs and strategies.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.
* Support positive behavior management and social skills development.
* Work with the school team to promote student wellbeing and academic success.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEMH in a primary setting.
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting children's education.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
* DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
