Overview
Barratt Redrow PLC is hiring for an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor role to provide detailed electronic bills of quantities and materials schedules for the Commercial and Procurement functions across Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Ward Homes. Reporting to the Group Surveying Manager, you will be responsible for providing Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Ward Homes across the Group's 27 operating divisions with detailed electronic bills of quantities and materials schedules for the Commercial and Procurement functions.

Reporting to the Group Surveying Manager, you will be responsible for providing the Group's 27 operating divisions of Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Ward Homes with detailed electronic bills of quantities and materials schedules for the Commercial and Procurement functions.
Responsibilities
* Support and Liaise with divisional Commercial departments to optimise business performance and ensure timely and prioritised production of bills of quantities and materials schedules
* Produce accurate take-offs for houses and apartments and transfer them to our estimating system
* Produce accurate materials schedules for use during the procurement process. Elements include roof timbers and first and second fix materials.
* Complete all allocated sites within an appropriate time scale and maintain a consistent high standard of work
* Work and communicate as a team to ensure the consistency and accuracy of all BoQs produced within the department
* Apply problem solving skills where there is a shortfall of information within issued working drawings or attached specification of work and pass on any relevant knowledge to other colleagues
* Provide an efficient and effective service to the divisions for general information or specific enquiries
* Able to read and interpret working drawings and be able to confidently discuss with the divisional technical teams.
Qualifications
* The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and time with minimal direction within a team environment
* Previous experience of estimating, scheduling and general surveying systems (particularly COINs) is preferred, but not essential
* Knowledge of construction methods (particularly in the house building sector) preferred, but not essential
* The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge and user ability of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Outlook
* Have excellent communication skills and the drive to influence staff at all levels.
