SENIOR CONSULTING STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

The Senior Structural Engineer Role:
Working with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level, and graduate engineers, we are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to support the Structures Team in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Structural Engineering projects and have experienced complex and challenging structural designs from conception to completion.
Working on a broad range of structural projects, this high-performing team of professionals is looking for an engineer aspiring to be an technically excellent design engineer. The projects are diverse and challenging, including bespoke new build structures, refurbishment, and heritage works.

Their client base includes architects, developers, fabricators, and building owners. They specialize in Engineering Consultancy, solving complex and problematic schemes for various projects. Their portfolio includes designing tree houses, badger sets, eco-houses, river alterations, and remodeled museums, showcasing their design versatility.

The successful candidate will need:
* Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
* At least 3 years post-qualification experience in civil and structural engineering
* Full UK driving license and own transport
* Chartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStructE)
Responsibilities:
* Detailed knowledge of structural design and detailing using UK and European codes
* Producing preliminary design solutions and reviewing with clients
* Producing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications
* Attending design, project progress, and client meetings
* Liaising with contractors, clients, and stakeholders
* Design in steelwork, reinforced/precast concrete, masonry, and timber
* Structural appraisals of various structures
* Managing project costs and schedules
* Ensuring sustainability criteria are met
* Complying with CDM Regulations
* Producing sketches, drawings, and reports
* Knowledge of BREEAM and embodied carbon
* Supervising CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers
* Business development and client relationship management
