Overview
Come and make a real difference: we're looking for an Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Haverfordwest. In this role you'll be working alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. To do this successfully, you'll be visible in the day-to-day operation of the service supporting duties in line with the requirements of the people we support. You'll be working shifts on a rota basis which may include sleep ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you'll have responsibility for the day to day running of the service. This will involve providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one to one's and appraisals and holding team meetings.
Above all else, your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support, and on organising and modelling that support in an innovative, person-centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and management to the team in the absence of the Service Manager, including day-to-day running of the service, monitoring performance, conducting one-to-one meetings and appraisals, and holding team meetings.
* Be visible in the day-to-day operation of the service and deliver duties in line with the needs of the people we support.
* Support duties in line with the requirements of the people we support; strive for independence and person-centred, flexible support.
* Organise and model support to promote independence and wellbeing.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
* A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
* A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
* Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
* A full driving licence - essential and happy to travel for meetings and training; access to your own car and willing to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities; obtaining business insurance for your vehicle (we pay 45p per mile)
