Role Overview The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, scalability, and efficiency across multiple business areas. There are several openings across distinct functions, each contributing to the organisation’s broader digital transformation. Business areas include: Operations Technology – Aviation-critical systems such as flight planning, crew applications, catering, and both above- and below-wing operations. Customer and Commercial Technology – Digital innovation for customer platforms, ancillary services, and contact centre solutions. Enterprise Enablement & Platform Services – Foundational technology, including cloud, observability, HR systems, and internal tooling to support secure and scalable operations. The technology environment includes AWS cloud-native solutions, Java-based services, UI development with React and Angular, and DevOps automation using GitHub and Terraform. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver innovative, strategically aligned technology solutions. Promote low-customisation, best-in-class applications that integrate seamlessly. Translate business requirements into robust functional and non-functional designs. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve conflicts and maintain architectural integrity. Review and manage functional specifications, addressing any deviations. Work with product teams to ensure solutions are testable, auditable, and measurable. Maintain strong supplier relationships and approve third-party deliverables. Ensure compliance with architectural standards and address non-conformance issues. Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps to ensure future readiness. Person Specification Essential Skills & Experience: Strong stakeholder management and consensus-building skills. Proven record in value-led service delivery and strategic business partnering. Experience across business, data, application, and technology architecture domains. Proactive, collaborative approach to delivering outcomes. Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Technical Expertise: Experience with digital product teams and Agile methodologies (SAFe Agile advantageous). Architecture design and delivery experience within AWS environments for critical systems. Knowledge of incremental delivery, Agile planning, and product-focused delivery models. Understanding of service-level agreements and system lifecycle management.
