We're looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Data team on a 6‑month contract. The role supports all teams across Footasylum, from Stores and Merch to Profit Protection and the Warehouse. You will work on the recently migrated Azure Databricks and Power BI stack and maintain key datasets that enable detailed ad‑hoc analysis for the business.
The Data team is an enabling function that works closely with Data Engineering to design solutions, share best practice and provide knowledge sharing sessions. You will be a key contributor to our reporting ecosystem and must attend Head Office in Greater Manchester in a hybrid model. This is not a remote position.
What you will do
* Design reports that allow users to be confident in their findings and to make data‑driven decisions.
* Build reporting solutions for business projects and initiatives.
* Identify and fix bugs within existing reports and communicate the impact to results.
* Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to identify bugs and provide requirements for views and tables in the data warehouse.
* Act as the go‑to team member for support and guidance on SQL and Power BI.
* Support the Principal BI Developer & Data Enablement Manager in planning and prioritising the work to be completed each sprint.
Qualifications
* Excellent SQL skills.
* Excellent Power BI skills, including Power Query and DAX.
* Strong analytical skills for new data sets and understanding their value.
* Good experience with Git.
* Experience with large datasets and tabular models.
* Deep understanding of Analysis Cube models and incremental refresh policies.
* Experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio and ALM Toolkit.
* A love for problem solving.
* Confidence in bringing new ideas to the team.
* Ability to support more junior team members with technical training, peer programming, and show‑and‑tell sessions.
* Good knowledge of data governance, data protection and GDPR.
* Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while evolving the data tech stack and practices.
