About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Technician to join our team. You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems for our THP installations, with a focus on structural steel, pressure vessels, and piping systems. This position reports to the head of the design office.
Key Responsibilities
* Use of SolidWorks 3D CAD software to create detailed drawings for manufacture/assembly.
* Create pipework/steelwork/vessel drawings based on output from calculation packages.
* Work with 3D assemblies/parts/drawings to prepare documentation for fabrication/assembly.
* Create BOM’s/bolting lists/assembly lists for relevant departments.
* Interpret PID drawings to transfer to 3D model/2D drawings.
* Collaborate with process, mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure integrated plant designs.
* Provide technical support shop floor manufacturing/assembly departments.
We are looking for
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* A logistical approach to work.
* Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
Requirements
* Accredited qualifications in mechanical engineering (e.g. HND, Level 3 diploma or equivalent).
* 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in processing industries (energy, water treatment, oil & gas, or chemical plants).
* Some knowledge of design codes and standards for pressure vessels, piping, and steel structures.
* Proficiency in 3D SolidWorks design software (other relevant software experience considered).
