Position Overview


The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain a cohesive technical architecture to support the company's products and services. The role must be familiar with architectural best practices and remain abreast of the state-of-the-art. It will be the responsibility of this role to ensure our solutions are scalable, secure and robust and provide compelling business cases for new technologies that we should be embracing.

Person specification


This person must have the following skills:

* Complex, client facing on-premises and cloud-based architectures
* AWS\Azure
* TOGAF
* SOLID
* DRY
* Infrastructure as Code
* Macroservices\Microservices

This person would benefit from knowledge in the following areas:

* Experience dealing with C-Suite
* GitHub
* SQL Server
* CI\CD
* Agile software development
* Terraform or similar
* Docker or similar
* DevOps
* Cloud AI services

This person must be:

* An excellent communicator
* A diplomatic leader who can quickly get people on side
* Delivery and Detail Focused
* A self-motivated and personable individual able to work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for their functional area
* Able to be proactive but also to take direction
* In possession of a methodical and structured approach to analysing problems and producing solutions
* Able to influence decisions through reasoned argument
* Excellent in documentation and presentation skills
* Quick to build relationships and earn respect through sound judgement and a positive attitude
* Committed to getting the job done

About The Role


Responsibilities

* Working closely with the Group CTO on the architectural road map
* Maintaining a cohesive and accurately documented technical architecture for the company's products and services
* Keep abreast of architectural best practices
* Ensure our systems and solutions are scalable, robust, and secure
* Perform an analysis of the existing architecture and identify a target architecture as well a roadmap to achieve it
* Provide compelling business cases for the adoption of new technologies and architectural patterns where appropriate
