Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Liverpool) – Liverpool/Hybrid. Role title: Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C). Location: Liverpool/Hybrid with flexible home/office balance.
Join our Clinical Negligence team as a Grade C Solicitor (or Equivalent). We are seeking a NQ–Grade C Solicitor or equivalent to join a dynamic and supportive team, with a strong reputation in clinical negligence and a team that includes APIL, AvMA, and Law Society accredited specialists. You will support Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from inception through trial, working under supervision in line with company policies and legal standards. You will also mentor and coach more junior team members as part of a large, busy team of clinical negligence experts.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for running an individual caseload
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
* Assist the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
* Effective and thorough time recording
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
* Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
* Collaborate to ensure relevant information is collected to progress cases
* Manage caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties
* Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
* Negotiate settlements and issue/serve proceedings as required
* Litigation of claims as required
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advise the team on technical issues arising from cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience handling a caseload
* NQ–5 years PQE or equivalent in Clinical Negligence
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, ProClaim and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
* Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines
* Excellent client care skills
