Job Overview
This position is suitable for registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. The South Lakes Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) is looking to recruit a qualified Band 6 Mental Health Nurse for a fixed-term 34-hour week contract. The role may involve working in either the Non-Psychosis or Psychosis Service Line, undertaking CMHT tasks as needed.
Location and Service Details
The team serves South Lakes within the Lake District, based in Kendal. It boasts a friendly, supportive culture with committed leadership, clinical supervision, and professional development opportunities. The service operates mainly from Kirkstone House, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, with hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and may require some out-of-hours and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform duties as a Care Coordinator, managing caseloads of individuals with complex needs.
2. Develop care plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, and manage risks in the community.
3. Undertake assessments for new referrals.
4. Manage unplanned patient work, respond to crises, and triage referrals as part of the team duty role.
5. Contribute to team leadership and support junior team members' development.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have current or previous experience in mental health settings, be clinically confident working with complex needs, and possess excellent communication skills. A flexible, proactive approach and a passion for recovery-oriented care are essential.
