Job Role: Engineer - Combustion
Location: HMP Lewes
Salary: £41,818.21
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 39hrs
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Combustion to join our team at HMP Lewes, a CATEGORY & Male Adult prison. We work Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven team, focused on creating a safe and nurturing environment. HMP Lewes operates as a self-contained town and relies on the Facilities Maintenance Team to ensure smooth and safe operation, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities
* Two years experience working in a role as a heating engineer, a combustion engineer or equivalent
* Maintain familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
* Work to Gas Safe (installation and use) regulations 1998 and associated industry standards
* Experience with commercial catering gas appliances would be beneficial
Qualifications
* Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing) and C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
* CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units
* COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety certificate and relevant commercial units
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
