Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Sandwell Council’s Democratic Services Division is seeking a professional, collaborative and highly organised individual to join the team as a Civic Office and Events Support Officer. This is a key role providing high-quality, flexible support to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Elected Members, and contributing to the delivery of prestigious, well-run civic functions.
Responsibilities
* Providing confidential, professional and proactive support to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Elected Members
* Leading and coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Civic Office, including line management of support staff
* Planning, organising and delivering high-profile civic events, engagements and visits
* Preparing speeches, briefings, correspondence and weekly engagement schedules to a high standard
This role requires a high level of autonomy and discretion, with the ability to work effectively and confidently within a political environment.

* Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills
* Confidence in working with senior stakeholders, elected Members and partners
* Tact, diplomacy and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
* A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
