Job Description: Join our Team: Lead Electrical Engineer - MP Group Division: Terex MP Group Engineering Location: Farlough Position Overview: The role of the Lead Electrical Engineer is to serve new product development (NPD), research & development, drive continuous improvement and support the Global Terex Engineering Team. The Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading and directing projects, ensuring targets are met. The role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, interfacing with and acting as the link between functions, and providing inter department communications. Our Lead Engineer will also manage a team of engineers. Responsibilities: People Management Managing & providing direction to a small electrical systems team & liaising closely with the Terex Brands. Planning Team Members workload and assignments; managing performance, career development planning, along with scheduling day to day workloads. Program Management Co-ordinate & support NPPD projects for Terex Brands - ensuring projects needs are interpreted accurately. Assist in developing concepts & proposals; ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget & all key objectives are me. Provide appropriate technical support on both existing product and NPD. Co-ordinate with the Global Engineering team, supporting individual project leaders. Take ownership & manage the introduction of new technology to ensure robust, repeatable & stable test periods. Standards, Health & Safety Leading Terex MPS & TWS Electrical team to design products that comply with Company & industry standards & legislation with regards to machine safety. Work with key stake holders to meet the Terex target of ZERO harm. Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies and in the creation of project risk analysis. Value Engineering Plan, create and test PLC, HMI software (mainly IFM & Allen Bradley). Ensure all project documentation & technical files are compiled and stored correctly. Support Operations teams on improvement projects & focused improvements on Terex products. Lead product cost reduction and product reliability improvement efforts. Directly contribute to and support continuous improvement in line with the business demand Occasionally perform equipment commissioning, installation and testing both in Company and on-site. Qualifications: Degree Educated in an Engineering or Science discipline. Strong Leadership skills and demonstrated ability to drive change. Previous experience in a management role in a manufacturing environment would be advantagous. 3 years in a project management role with a proven record of accomplishment of meeting key objectives and on time delivery. Technical expertise in 3 phase electrical & DC voltage control systems. Familiarity with electrical automation of hydraulic systems a plus. A Track record of coaching and mentoring engineers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience working in heavy equipment industry of 3 years. Comprehensive knowledge in design & fault finding of 3 phase electrical systems. Experience in design of 24Vdc control systems including CAN bus, Modbus etc. networks. Development of Software programs (ideally in CoDeSys). Knowledge & understanding of Hydraulic systems. Independent and self- motivated individual. Excellent leadership and management skills. Project management and analytical skills. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
