As Business Operations Manage r you will own the BU business operation and Project Management Office functions. You will work closely with other functions within the BU to work as efficiently and effectively as possible to drive operational excellence.
Primary Job Purpose
* To provide high levels of confidence in delivery and forecasting
* To ensure high levels of efficiency & effectiveness across all BU Operations
* To enable the BU leadership to confidently make informed and timely decisions based on accurate and insightful information
* To enable the BU leadership to understand it’s risks & opportunities and be able to make informed, risk-based decisions
* To provide Project Management Office Services in support of BU functions
* To act as an interface to key central business services
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance and advancement of management information across the Business Unit
* Creating, maintaining and sharing timely business performance data and reporting based on single versions of the truth that accurately reflect the position of the business
* Ensuring the needs of the BU (for people, space, IT and Infrastructure, Security, MI and Tooling) have accurate representation within the Integrated Business Planning Process
* Continually identifying and exploiting opportunities to increase project profitability/margin and maximise staff utilisation
* Ensure a robust Enterprise Risk & Opportunity Management systems is in place to protect the BU and Roke
* Understanding and improve the levels of compliance against business processes across the BU
* Always fully complying with Roke’s published policies and procedures
* Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business
Managing People
* Identifies and implements opportunities to optimise team effectiveness and performance
* Sets clear and ambitious objectives for the team and supports the team in achieving them
* Coaches and mentors staff, provides feedback through regular 1:1 meetings and team meetings to discuss goals set in line with company policies
* Leads employees through the performance management processes including performance conversations, career development and performance improvement programmes
* Facilitates the cascade of business communications to team members, providing context and guidance where required

Keeping everybody safe and protecting the environment is paramount; this role requires active management of all identified Health, Safety & Environmental risks linked to projects in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education and Qualifications
* Relevant degree and/or experience required
* Appropriate P3 qualifications (P3O, APM, MoP, MSP, Prince2) ideally
* Lean 6 Sigma an advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3 years Business Operations
* Enterprise Risk Management
* Data analysis experience
* Information and Data Management experience
* Extensive P3 experience in a customer facing organisation – successfully working at project, programme, and portfolio levels
