An exciting temporary opportunity is available with the role of Property Compliance Manager, for a period of up to 12 months (subject to review). The location of the role can be flexible within one of NGED’s operational areas. As part of the Electricity Distribution (ED) Property Team, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of property training across the business, managing the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process, and ensuring effective governance of property-related policies and compliance/risk management. Reporting to the Head of Property, you will collaborate closely with colleagues in the ED Property Team, as well as with other departments across the business. The role also involves working with external service providers to develop and deliver high-quality training materials. *Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete. Main Responsibilities Team Safety Leadership Take the lead on safety within the team, ensuring full compliance with relevant safety standards. This includes maintaining up-to-date operational authorisations and CBTs, managing PPE requirements, DSE assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. Property Training Lead the development and delivery of property-related training within the ED Property Team and across the wider business. Responsibilities include: Identifying training needs and developing appropriate materials. Managing training programmes, such as dial-in CPD seminars, training school sessions, bespoke packages for specific audiences, and content hosted on ED Property’s SharePoint site. Coordinating with internal subject matter experts, senior team members (including the Compliance Manager), and external providers to deliver training. Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Oversee the administration and operation of the APC process, including: Managing the APC syllabus and ensuring supporting materials are available via the ED Property SharePoint site. Coordinating rotas and work allocation for APC Assessors. Scheduling and tracking APC candidate submissions and interview timetables. Property Policy Management Support the development, maintenance, and communication of property policies and guidance: Maintain and update Practice Notes and policy documents. Ensure the timely creation and publication of new policy documents by relevant team members. Maintain policy materials on NGED’s external website, particularly those supporting new connection customers. Property Compliance and Risk Management Ensure property-related compliance and risk processes are effective and well-managed: Maintain compliance and risk registers in collaboration with ED’s Risk and Compliance Team. Coordinate internal processes (e.g., audits and reviews) to uphold compliance standards and manage risks. Deliver team-wide compliance training. Liaise with the Legal Team to ensure business-wide awareness of new property-related legislation or regulations, including the provision of related training. Team and Leadership Responsibilities As part of the ED Property Management Team: Approve property transactions within your delegated authority level. Lead and coordinate team meetings, events, and communications. Identify and address training and professional development needs across the team, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach. The Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and stay well organised. You should be confident in applying creative thinking and acting on original ideas, as well as working independently with high levels of self-motivation. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to present information clearly and confidently. A strong focus on customer service is expected, along with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Extensive experience in the property and consents field is essential. Ideally, you will also hold a degree or equivalent qualification in land management. The role requires you to be willing and able to travel throughout NGED’s region.
